Flash Drive Recovery

Recover deleted files from a flash drive. Runs entirely on this machine.

Find deleted photos and files

The best place to start. A drive remembers the original name and size of files you delete until the space is reused. This lists them so you can tick the ones you want back. It works for any format, including camera RAW, and the whole drive is checked, so you don't need to know which folder anything was in.

Know the exact file name?

Type the file's original name (no path needed) and it's looked up in the drive's own file table, then recovered under its real name, even if it was deleted. Works for FAT32 and exFAT drives: most flash drives, SD cards, and camera/recorder storage.

Last resort: scan for file types

If the lists above come up empty (for example the drive was formatted), this reads the whole drive byte by byte for the signatures of known file types. It always covers the entire drive, because once a file is deleted its folder record is gone too. Recovered files come back renamed like 000001_jpg.jpg, since original names can't be recovered this way.
